From 50 slips to 500, from dry stack to superyachts, US Marina Group is well-versed in all aspects of operations, sales, marketing, customer service, and financial controls. In fact, the extensive backgrounds of Jim and Kevin include a history of long-term executive management and ownership at some of the most well-known marina facilities in the world including Bahia Mar, Pier 66, Rybovich, Saunders Yachtworks, and Marina Pez Vela. In addition to its expertise in all aspects of marina management, USMG also has decades of hands-on experience in marina and boatyard layout and design.
US Marina Group. New But Not Novice.
While Bronstien and Quirk each have their own active marine businesses, they decided to expand their activities and join together as 3rd party marina operators and advisors for developers, hotel owners, condominium associations and private equity investors. In the past year, US Marina Group has taken on 3 new marinas both in the US and abroad, as well as numerous advisory projects:
17th Street Yacht Basin (Hilton Marina in Ft. Lauderdale)
This iconic superyacht facility handles yachts up to 300′ on the face dock in addition to 25 additional slips surrounding the property. USMG became engaged when Brookfield Asset Management acquired this facility in 2018. This marina was previously operated remotely and with minimal attention. USMG was able to develop staff, systems, controls, and branding to this recognizable location and has successfully turned this facility around.
This brand-new marina project is located on the Pacific side of Panama and is set to open in November 2019. Part of a major residential development project located 50 miles outside of Panama City, Buenaventura is considered the “Hamptons” of Panama. The marina will feature 60 wet slips and 100 dry stack slips, along with fuel, a boat club, repair services, and charter services.
The developer wanted a top tier 3rd party marina management group from the US to operate this facility and USMG quickly became the clear choice.
This beautiful 112-slip marina is located in North Miami, Florida and is surrounded by the luxurious Marina Palms condominium development. Since it opened 3 years ago, it has been operated by a subsidiary of USMG. During that time, the marina went from zero boats to 80% annualized occupancy including fuel, sundry store and an in-house boat club, all internally operated.
On top of these remarkable properties, USMG also uses its subsidiary advisory and consulting arm, Marine Business Advisors (MBA) to work on other projects. MBA and USMG are currently active with other marina and boatyard projects in Miami, Connecticut, California, Texas, Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands.
