Summer’s here and it’s time to start thing about a STAYCATION. You know, a vacation to a destination close to home. If you’re a boater in the south Florida region, you should check out the 17th Street Yacht Basin in Fort Lauderdale. It’s part of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Resort Marina. This allows you to stay on your vessel while enjoying all the amenities offered by the Hilton.
The Location: 1881 SE 17th Street, in the heart of the city, on the Intracoastal, and the closest marina to Port Everglades
The Resort: The Hilton offers lavish-resort amenities including a resort-style pool, poolside bar, restaurant, and fitness center
Here is a sample weekend staycation itinerary with us.
Day 1, Friday: Upon arrival, you get settled in and explore the resort. Check out the yachts. Perhaps take a dip in the pool, have a cocktail and appetizer at our poolside eatery. There are lots of dining options within minutes of our marina. The Mermaid Burlesque Show at B Ocean is a PG-13 rated unique entertainment option, and worth checking out.
Day 2, Saturday: For boaters, the Fort Lauderdale Sandbar is the social hub of Fort Lauderdale. It’s a 5-minute by boat ride from our marina. There is the party Sandbar and a second one that’s more family-friendly. Take a cruise up the New River and explore Millionaire’s Row. The city offers several waterfront dining options you can arrive by boat. That night we suggest exploring Las Olas Blvd. A lot has changed if you haven’t been here lately. It’s truly an adventure in indulgence.
Day 3, Sunday: Have a late breakfast with us and chill by the pool. On our facedock you have a front-row seat to the Yachting Capital of the world. If you’re still craving more exploration, there’s a water taxi pick-up beside our marina. It’s a great way to see the best of Fort Lauderdale.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a boating staycation at 17th Street Yacht Basin, Fort Lauderdale’s Yachting Sweet Spot. We hope we’ve piqued your interest and would love to be your marina of choice.
